Big questions from James

Ok so we got this post up on the Facebook page from James Thomas:

I have an intensely stupid series of questions (don't try this at home, kids, it's my job to be this intensely stupid... you have been warned). Will the next season begin immediately after this one? Will we ever have multiple seasons running at the same time, like the quarterly system of old I seem to remember but may ...of made up in my head movies? Is there anyway I can humbly request actors be added for the next season so I can have them on my casting couch then? Why do dogs always bark at me... is it my nature?

Whoa there James!  Let's deal with this one at a time.

Will the next season begin immediately after this one?

Yes.  Well kind of.  The current season will close on Oscar Night (which is Feb 27th 2011).  Some special bonuses will be given on the night and then the ew season opens.  We'll have a 2 week "holiday" to give leaguers enough time to get their cast in.  After this time we start the new game.  So during the holiday period any films in the Top Ten won't score.  Of course, as usual you can join in at any time over course of the 2011 season but you won't retroactively score.  Ok what's next James?

Will we ever have multiple seasons running at the same time, like the quarterly system of old I seem to remember but may ...of made up in my head movies?

No head movies that was a real thing.  So the idea of a quarterly season was to allow you to start over if you really messed up.  Instead of doing this (and if you listen to the podcast you'll know) we're going to introduce a transfer system instead.  This was not possible to do with the old game system (hence the complete rebuild) but we are currently going to add the ability to swap out members of your cast.  We're still working on the exact mechanics (and would welcome ideas to the usual address) but this year we will allow everyone to make one transfer if you want to.  For the 2011 season this system will be on from day one so you can keep your cast fresh over the course of the year.  This should allow a few more strategic choices for you over the year but it's an entirely optional syste.  We will be marking the FFL players films that have adapted their films and you'll be able to see at a glance how well you are doing against "original" and "adapted" films.  Mr Smith and I gone on about this in far more detail on the latest podcast.

Is there anyway I can humbly request actors be added for the next season so I can have them on my casting couch then?

Absolutely. It's a great help to have Leaguers out there to help us out in case we miss a few.  A few glaring omissions were made on the 2010 list. Come New Year I'll be posting an update telling you how to do this.  I'd like to mainly focus on UK and US box Office castmembers so please don't inudate me with every Bolloywood actor there is!! Decisions on pricing and inclusion into the 2011 list is with the FFL Team.  OK?  Right what was the last one...?

Why do dogs always bark at me... is it my nature?

No. It's the aftershave. Try Old Spice....
